GREAT FILMS - GALA EVENTS featured at
The 2012 Avenue of the Arts FILM FESTIVAL
July 12-20 At BPL's West End Branch of the Boston Public Library
A FREE Cultural Community Event - Open to the Public
|
 |
HISTORY: The Avenue of the Arts Film Festival and Exhibit was founded by L. B. Gratun in 2004 as an
official event of the Democratic National Convention and of the Committee. Screenings of award winning
documentaries and appearances by leading filmmakers took place at Northeastern University, Simmons
College, and Boston Library locations, catching the attention of Variety International, The Boston Globe,
and other publications. Noteworthy films shown have been "ahead of the curve" on such issues as WMD,
voting practices, the Iraq War, global environment, and the financial crisis, to name a few. Campus talent
has been given a voice as well. |
